rethinking the think-different thing

Image Slideshows using Finder or howto view images on OSX

March 6th, 2007 at 23:38

I was always wondering why Apple doenst offers a real image-viewer. Ok there is Preview after you have installed OS-X but its missing several really basic functions like browsing to the next image in the folder, roate and much more.

Finally i found another way, really simple but it took some time to figure it out. Shame on me

  1. Goto Finder
  2. Navigate to your desired image-folder
  3. Select all images using your mouse, or better the Cmd+A Shortcut
  4. Right-mouse click to open the context menu
  5. Select Slideshow

OS-X should switch now into Slideshow-Mode. From now on you should have access to several functions without using a third party image viewer. At least for me its enough to enjoy image viewing much more then before.

The ESC-key should close the Slideshow

enjoy it

best regards

fidel

edit: i am not sure, but i guess its a 10.4 feature
